This Privacy Policy explains how Berg Studio ("we", "us", "our"), operating under the brand bum.pt, collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website (bum.pt) and software.
Berg Studio is based in Switzerland. We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nLPD) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
1. What data we collect
1.1 Website visitors
When you visit bum.pt, we may collect:
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
- Data collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) for performance and security
We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not use any third-party analytics service.
1.2 Customers (license purchases)
When you purchase a Professional license, the following data is collected by our payment processor Polar.sh (Merchant of Record):
- Email address
- Name and billing address
- Payment information (processed by Polar.sh — we never see your card details)
We use your email address solely to deliver your license key and for essential transactional communications (purchase confirmation, license expiration notices).
1.3 Self-hosted software
bum.pt is a self-hosted application. We do not collect any data from your self-hosted instance. All your monitoring data, user accounts, and configuration remain on your own servers.
License keys are validated locally using cryptographic signatures (Ed25519). No data is sent to our servers for license verification.
2. How we use your data
- To deliver your license key after purchase
- To send transactional emails related to your purchase
- To respond to support requests you initiate
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, secure credential storage, and access controls. License keys are cryptographically signed using Ed25519 and cannot be forged or tampered with.

bum.pt is a professional IT tool and is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
